The Cornell Tech Library Services team is based in Ithaca, NY and available by email Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm. We usually respond within one business day or sooner.

We offer assistance over email, as well as virtual consultations with a librarian. Email us at library@tech.cornell.edu to get started.

Here are a few things you can also try if you get an error message or can’t get into a database:

  • Try accessing another database. Can you get into one database, but not another?
  • Clear your browser’s cache (for all time – not just past few hours) and restart your browser.
  • Try using a different browser such as Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera. Some databases work better in a one browser than others.
  • If your computer is behind a firewall, you may have trouble accessing library databases. One option for accessing from off-campus is to use a secure virtual private network (VPN) provided by CIT. Most firewalls will allow VPN traffic.

Please describe the problem and include the name of the database, a copy of the error message, and what you have tried to fix the problem. The Cornell Tech Library Services team will work with you to resolve the issue or help you contact additional support services if needed.

Library access for Cornell alumni

The Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island does not have a physical library space. Instead, the Cornell Tech Library Services team is a group of expert library staff based in Ithaca, NY who support the unique information and research needs of the Cornell Tech campus community.

You are welcome to email us (library@tech.cornell.edu) regarding access to Cornell resources and for assistance finding business and tech resources in your area.

    • → Reaching out to the library is a great place to start. We can help you break down the question into manageable parts and work with you to figure out how to search for what you need in a strategic way. 
  • Are you looking for something specific, and even after trying every possible variation, nothing works?
    • → We can help with finicky searches, navigating complex databases, and with finding an alternate source that fulfills your information need.
